Cocoa Date Balls

Cocoa Date Balls

  • Simple Batter Recipe
  • - 10 dates, soaked in cold filtered water for at least 1 hour (they should be softened)
  • - 3 TBSP Unsweetened Cocoa
  • - 4 TBSP Coconut Butter (softened)

  • Method:

Blend the above in a food processor until fully blended. Remove the batter, place on wax paper or another non-stick surface and begin to roll into balls (about a half TBSP of batter for each ball).

      Flavor additions:
    • Coconut Flakes - roll the balls in coconut flakes, covering all sides.
    • Chopped Macadamia Nuts - roll the balls in chopped macadamia nuts, covering all sides.
    • Chopped Dark Chocolate - Chop the chocolate in the food processor, then transfer to a surface suitable for rolling the date balls. Cover all sides.
    • Chopped Dark Chocolate & Bacon - Chop the chocolate and cooked bacon in the food processor. Add the date ball mixture to the food processor and blend everything together. Remove and roll into individual date balls.
    • Orange Peel - Before rolling, put batter back in the food processor, grate some orange peel on top and blended until the batter is mixed with the orange peel.
    • Warm Spices - 1/8 TSP each of ground Cinnamon, ground Ginger, ground Cardamom and ground Nutmeg. Mix into date mixture, then roll into individual balls.
