Dutch Oven Roasted Chicken


Ingredients:

  • - 1 whole chicken, giblets removed, washed, drained and patted dry
  • - 3 sliced cloves of Garlic
  • - 1/4 Cup water or Chicken Broth
  • - 1/2 TSP fresh Sage, diced
  • - Salt and Pepper to taste

  • Method:

      Pre-heat oven to 450 degrees. Prepare the chicken by inserting sliced garlic into cavity and/or under skin and seasoning with salt and pepper. Place chicken breast-side down in a large dutch oven. Add chicken broth to the bottom of the dutch oven. Cover and bake for 1 hour. After an hour, add the chopped sage and leave the chicken uncovered until it is fully cooked (another 15-30 minutes). The chicken will be done when the juices run clear.
